Slowmotiondyno day fall meet 2011, a set on Flickr.
Another Day Another Dollar
Slomo dyno day 2011, a set on Flickr.
Check out some pics from the slow mo dyno day!
I was thinking last night how my day job feels like I have to pull rabbits out of hats or make the space shuttle dissappear. But even that would be easy compared to the stuff I’ve been asked to do at work.
Then there’s my Friends.. It’s like tight rope walking. To be with my friends and spend time with them I stay out too late and end up over the wire to the right. Then I work to much and people don’t see me so I’m over to the left.
All the mean while I’m juggling plates, a chain saw and a dildo.
I just wish I could get it all done. My car is no where near as far a long as I’d like, work is stressful, s3 is keeping me busy, my beaters a pos, my mom is crazy, and fuck.
Does any one else feel like they have to do impossible at work?
Gentlemen of the internet,
Steve Thomsen came up with the idea to do a spring meet at Horizon Audio because they have a good amount of parking. Then he decided to make it more of an event based on charity… And then shit. got. real.
Basically it’s going to be cool.
Car cruise in – open to anything. Bikes are welcome. Bike dyno and a car dyno. Not just any mustang dyno either. It’s a Dynapack so it’s open to RWD, FWD And AWD!
The big thing is we are trying to raise some money and take donations in the form of items for the stark county humane society.
So it’s called. DYNO DAY FOR DOGS!

I’ve got the “absolutelynobitchassness” stickers for sale.
TK asked why we don’t have a facebook page. Well, guess what. We do now. www.facebook.com/CrewLegit
Pace recently said he doesn’t want to be a part of crew legit because he’s not into crews. That is completely
fine. He was in then out then back out again.
I’m still CrewLegit. I’m working on some stickers and some shirts.. and some videos. jesus.
Effect collaborated with Honda enthusiast Big Mike from California to do this one wheel head shirt in his own style. I’m excited about these shirts and this is only the first one. I’m excited to see who else they collaborated with and what other styles they come out with.
Heres a link to his shirt on Eeffect’s site.
Here is a video that mike did with the Skunk2 guys. It’s really funny.

Last year was great in a lot of ways – weak in others – but that is part of life.
2010 Started pretty good. I had shot some cars for S3 at the time and was super excited about that they were my second and third ever magazine features. (4th kind of but yeah i dont count the first one) Spring came on kind of slowly. I honestly hid in-doors. I have seasonal depression pretty bad when it’s super shitty out. I went to Florida in May and I was bored by myself so I invited Jon and his GF to come down to florida with me. It was one of my best vacations in recent memories. We got bikes and cruised around the island.
Then in late may I got some very bad news about my Grand Ma. She had some health problems so my mom had flown down to florida take care of her. She had a bad skin condition that made life painful. It went away eventually.. then she started having abdominal pain and she had to have emergency surgery. While in surgery the doctors discovered she had an aggressive form of cancer. At the time, she was in her mid seventies. She figured she had lived a good long life and had a hospice nurse start seeing her as she didn’t have very much time. All of a sudden just all this shit happened. I mean it was if someone flipped on a switch to drop drama and problems on my family. People were acting a god damn fool. I kind of though I had longer with her… I just stayed positive with her. I refused to believe she’d be gone so soon.
I lost a close friend years ago to a medical condition and I thought that it was especially hard because he was so young. But it doesn’t matter when you loose someone you love it is always too soon.
Fourth of July was amazing.. I thought about staying home because I was being emo but I went out to Steve’s parents house and had an amazing pool party. Good god.
Then Import Alliance snuck up on me. I love that weekend trip with my friends. Seeing all the people from Chatanooga, Florida, VA, Georgia, Maine, KY, Ohio, Alabama, Etc. It’s always such a good time.
I worked really hard that event to shoot a bunch of different cars. That is a funny story and it’s kind of long but — here goes … I honestly did not want to take my car down to IA this year. I had the year before. It really doesn’t make sense unless I have someone to drive my car because I want to take pics on the way down. Anyway, on the way down the fast idle fell out of my throttle body and caused a HUGE vacuum leak. I lost power, my plugs started going out, and I had an idle surge. I decided to not worry about it and just do my thing. At this point I had no idea what was going on with my car other than it had a huge vacuum leak some where. That was friday night and I just didn’t want to mess with it. So, I ran around socializing as people poured in.
Saturday came around.. We had planned on getting to IA early but we heard that some jagoffs got their at 5am. The gates didnt even open til 8am so wtf.. we rolled out still kind of early. That day Jeremy gave me a ride to the show (thanks) we ’snuck’ in the back way – but it still took time.. I focused on filming the event as much as possible. That whole day I tried to just film. I took no pictures at all.
Saturday night I had a bunch of people look at my car. Adam took off the valve cover and made sure it was in time and then did some other shit. Then we discovered the problem with the fast idle…. Doh. Luis had hit me up and was like – hey can you shoot my car for s3. I really want to get a shoot done. J Evins isn’t here.. I told luis my problem and he said, “oh i’ll let you borrow mine and you can drive home then ship it to me.” I was like, “damn thanks man thats so nice of you! I’ll shoot your car first thing sunday.”
Sunday comes around and I got a ride from a friend again to the event. This time I was more concerned about doing photography. I shot Luis’s car. It was soo damn fucking hot. July heat in TN. WTF was i thinking. I’m from OHIO. That’s like Canada compared to TN. He was super cool and bought me a 6 dollar gatorade from concessions. Tasted goood. I needed it.. I got a text from J wooley and I figured I’d come down to the S3mag booth.. When I did Sean Bradford made it known that Luis’s car was going in import tuner. So, I said, “yeah but that was like a year ago.” To which sean said, “well, they wont pay me or work with me if this happens- if his car gets ran in s3.” I said, “look- talk to IT and figure out what the real story is because I’ve had friends get bumped out of magazines before. I love pancakes car it deserves a feature either way.” Sean agreed. So, I went out a few times looking at cars to shoot for s3 with Mr. jon. Jon wanted me to shoot a wagovan.. so I did.
I shot this nice Honda Civic Wagon. The guy seemed cool. I stayed til after IA and let my ride bounce. Don actually ended up giving me a ride home. It was a freaking long day. I got back to the hotel pretty late.
There was another car that I wanted to shoot BEFORE this spring even. Before IA. I knew he’d go to IA so I wanted to shoot his car at IA specifically. John was the name of the builder/owner. Super nice guy from florida. I told him the situation – how my car was running bad. Well, he came down and took a look – even though we though we had it figured out. Adam was kind enough to make a block off plate using a redbull can. That sunday night I test drove it and it was 70% better. I had to get new wires and plugs and it was all good. So, sunday night Jon was down to have his car shot that following monday. We’d wake up and do work. Unfortunately the next he decided to take off. He missed his Wife real bad is what he told me.. I wasn’t mad. he’s still an awesome guy for helping me with my car.
So, at that point I had wanted to shoot 3 cars. Shot 2. Only one was going to be a feature. SMH.
The cherry on the cake was… our group from akron stopped in louisville and I got into a fender bender his truck was fine but my front bumper was screwed and my headlight was too. poor car.
That was an expensive fender bender.
The rest of the summer was pretty chill. Went to IFO in columbus.. Adam ran low 11 passes that day.. i was supremely lazy and just hung out bbqed and had a good time doing that in my pop up tent. Later on that fall adam ran 10s!
Fall was nice.. Went to superfly a few times and Steve finally got his car running well. We ended up going to IA fall meet. which was a blast to cruise down. Bao, pace, steve, steve, ashley, pace, erin, and me.. It was a great meet.. Good to see everyone again..
There are some other things I missed. Comment and add memories of this year if you’d like..
I have big goals for my integra this winter.
Sold my B-Series Header.. Still selling my B-series parts.. LS drop out.
For those of you don’t know who Chris Miller is, you need to read this. And well, for those of you who do know who Chris Miller is, you still need to read this.
“In preparing for the 2010 season that is fast approaching, Chris took some time out to do some testing and diagnostics on his car.
First up, Chris wanted to see how his car sat at the end of last season. The car did better than any of us could have imagined it would and we were pretty sure there would be a price to pay for it. We never really got to dyno the car with the boost turned up at all, so Chris gave it shot. The results were initially mixed, but after two sets of 26″ x 10″ Mickey Thompson slicks and a few hours later we had some concrete answers.

At just over 35lbs. of boost the car made a little over 1000hp to the tires. At 46lbs. it made an astonishing amount of power by cracking the 1200hp mark at an SAE Correction factor. Actual power uncorrected was over 1250hp, but we’ll stick with SAE Correction for our forum geeks out there

I stopped by the shop for the first time in a while. I was pumped to see rob brought a vending machine to the garage. No doubt it will be filled with beer or ghetto soda pop.
Adam also got the hatch tuned with his new setup. He’s making well over 600hp with the injectors maxed out. It will be awesome to see what he’s making with bigger squirts! He’s a fucking mad man.
I’m also throwing a pic in of steves fourdoor. Just because it looks so clean.
Tomorrow morning (this morning technically) I’m going to do a photo shoot of an insane ek coupe. 700+hp on a stock kseries long block. Wish me luck.
